Netflix removes the basic plan from some countries
Netflix plans to discontinue its lowest-priced 'Basic' plan without ads in Canada and the US. The streaming giant made such a decision to increase revenue.
In an announcement, Netflix said that Netflix plans to remove the basic plan from some countries. It may discontinue the plan completely in the second quarter of this year.
The Netflix Basic plan was originally priced at $10, but the company raised the price to $12 in October. It has scrapped the basic plan for new customers since last July. But now the company is not planning to increase the price; Instead, it is removing the Basic plan entirely for all new and old customers.
